Joseph F. Singleton is Senior Partner in the firm of Singleton, Burroughs & Young. Born on November 15, 1945, he is a native of Conway. He is an alumnus of Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1967. In 1970, he was awarded a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While attending law school, he was a member of the Society of Wig and Robe, and was a member of the South Carolina Law Review.
He is a longtime member of the South Carolina Bar and Horry County Bar Associations, and served as president of the Horry County Bar from 1979-1981. He is also a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, and has practiced law in Horry County since 1970. He holds the AV ® Preeminent rank from Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Ratings, which is the "highest level of professional excellence."
He is currently secretary-treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Coastal Educational Foundation. He is also a former elder at First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach, where he and his family reside.
