Joseph
F. Singleton is the senior member of Singleton, Burroughs
& Young. Born on November 15, 1945, he is a native of Conway.
He is an alumnus of Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C.,
where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1967. In 1970,
he was awarded a law degree from the University of South Carolina
School of Law. While attending law school, he was a member
of the Society of Wig and Robe, and was a member of the South
Carolina Law Review.
He has served as an arbitrator since 1990, and has been certified
as a mediator since 1995. He is a longtime member of the South
Carolina Bar and Horry County Bar Associations, and served
as president of the Horry County Bar Association from 1979-1981.
He has practiced law in Horry County since 1970. He currently
serves on the Board of Directors of the Coastal Educational
Foundation. He and his family live in Myrtle Beach.
He has been awarded the top AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell
for "the highest ethical and professional standards."
