James T. Young was born on June 6, 1962, in Minneapolis, Minnesota,
and was raised in Gaffney, South Carolina. He earned his law
degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law
in 1991, and also received a bachelor of science degree from
USC. He has been a member of the South Carolina Bar Association
since 1991, and is also a member of the Horry County Bar Association.
He is active in local civic and charitable organizations,
including the Conway Rotary Club, and also serves on the board
of directors of the local Salvation Army. He and his family
live in Conway.
